The Ultimate watch for the Ultimate Spy- Watches from James Bond Movies

“The name is Bond… James Bond”. This is one of the most favourite one liner ever to be said on a movie screen. Yes, today, Ian Fleming’s James Bond is a phenom in the film industry and has created a whole new movie franchise that spawned more than twenty movies in the last three decades. James Bond movies are well known for the fantastic spy stories that mix up advanced spy gears, beautiful women, expensive cars, exquisite locations and sophisticated villains. The movies are well known for their panache and huge action set pieces. But the one thing that defines Bond from the rest are his accessories. It includes pens, suitcases, shoes and of course, watches.

Watches are an integral part of any James Bond movie as they often help our hero to get out of many tricky situations (and they do tell time too). Many brands have been associated with the franchise, but none of them has reached the popularity level of an Omega Seamaster or a Seiko quartz chronograph series. Omega Seamaster has a special “bond with Bond” as he is an ex-naval commander in the Royal Navy and Seamaster watches are specially designed for endurance in dynamic ocean conditions.

Seiko quartz chronograph watches were extensively used during the “Roger Moore” era and later moved on to the digital display hub watches like the Seiko G757 Sports 100 and the Seiko M354 Memory-Bank Calendar. In the movies, these watches are equipped with special functional (or rather say, fictional) features like remote detonators and laser cutters. But in real life, these are nothing short of being a technological marvel.

When Pierce Brosnan came on board, Omega Seamaster took its place again as Bond’s most trusted gadget. He used a quartz version of the Omega Seamaster Professional 300M for GoldenEye, a Seamaster Diver 300M for Tomorrow Never Dies, World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day.

Our present Bond aka Daniel Craig used a Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial and Planet Ocean 600M Co-Axial for his two movies. For the movie Skyfall, a new series of watches were used by Bond called the Aqua Terra.

As this massively respected movie franchise makes new waves at the box-office, we, the Bond fans are excited to see what is next thing on his wrist. Till then drink that vodka Martini, wear those slick tuxedos and show off your new Aston Martin and if someone asks your name… You definitely know what to say.
